Reader / Lector
Sept. 10 by Jude

Proclamation of the sacred text of the church is of utmost  importance.   The reader in the Mass is one who will share with the assembly the words form the Hebrew Scriptures, the Christian Scriptures to give voice to the prayers of the faithful.  These readers are the vessels that pour out the word of God spoken long ago yet ever new and alive in our world today.

These ministers prepare by reading and re-reading the sacred  scripture to let it live and dwell within them so that when it comes time to proclaim this text at liturgy, the words leap off the page so that through our hearing, it is brought to our minds, speaks to our hearts and settles in our souls.

A live for scripture and a voice with good projection is needed for this ministry.
